Young people in Portsmouth will have access to an education that directly improves their chances of finding employment, as Dancor Group starts work on another groundbreaking educational project.
We are working with BAM Construction on the £10m University Technical College in Portsmouth, a 600 capacity school for students aged 14-19 dedicated to academic and vocational courses in science, technology, engineering and maths.
Situated in the Trafalgar School Campus in the Hilsea area of the city, Dancor Acoustics will be fitting drylining, partitioning and suspended ceilings, creating workshops, laboratories and ICT suites.
Dominic Goodale, Managing Director, Dancor Group, comments: “This project will help to enhance the skills of young people in the Portsmouth area and offer them advanced skills to ready them for the world of employment. We’re delighted to be appointed by BAM Construction again, furthering our extensive portfolio of educational projects across the UK”.
Led by the University of Portsmouth, the Royal Navy and Portsmouth City Council, the new UTC school will offer opportunities for students in such specialist skills as AutoCad, leadership training, RYA sailing, Young Engineer Challenges and Combined Cadet Forces.
