Trainee Estimator

Team: Commercial

Reports to: Commercial Director

Overview:

The Trainee Estimator works as part of the commercial team, assisting with estimation, measures or team administration as required. The Trainee Estimator will be working toward taking on a portfolio of their own and eventually be able to take a job from tender to final account.

Main duties:

Managing tenders in the value range of £50k to £50m.

Produce accurate costs, and identify key risks and opportunities to enable effective tender settlements.

Complete elements of larger / more complex tenders working closely with senior staff.

Contribute positively to the successful mobilisation of secured contracts.

Maintain and create strong and positive working relationships with clients.

Undertake reporting and administration duties for the commercial team as required.

Key capabilities:

  • Computer literate
  • Able to use standard Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Powerpoint (essential)
  • Able to use Microsoft packages: Project (desirable)

Personal attributes:

Site Supervisor 

Team: Operations

Reports to: Site Manager

Overview:

The Site Supervisor works as part of the Operations team, delivering the work on site for our customers. The site supervisor will be on the ground each day to manage the performance and safety of subcontractors on site. They are also responsible for day-to-day success of the site, including briefing subcontractors, interacting with the main contractor and monitoring health & safety.

Main duties:

Supervise all subcontractors on site.

Plan & organise the day to day workload of each sub-contractor.

Check and audit the quality of work by subcontractors, and take measures of complete work.

Ensure all health & safety procedures are in place and being followed, and audit the health & safety performance of subcontractors to ensure compliance.

Liaise with the main contractor’s site management team to resolve any issues.

Receiving deliveries and ensuring our materials are stored correctly.

Responsible for general housekeeping of any part of the site handed to Dancor during work, and before being handed back to the main contractor.

Key capabilities:

  • CSCS card
  • Full driving license
  • Experience managing subcontractors
  • Drylining experience highly desirable

Trainee Surveyor

Team: Commercial

Reports to: Commercial Director

Overview:

The Trainee Surveyor works as part of the commercial team, learning Dancor’s processes and applying these to ensure payments to and from suppliers and customers are processed, costed and paid. The Trainee Surveyor will also ensure payments and incomes are tracked against projects, contributing to the commercial success of the Dancor Group. The Trainee Surveyor will be working toward taking on a portfolio of their own.

Main duties:

Ensuring all main contract and sub contract processes are regularly and diligently complied with.

Timely processing of invoices and payment notices.

Updates and managed key commercial tracking documents to assist Project Surveyors with preparation of CVR’s and project cash flows.

Contributing to key project objectives.

Pricing any additional works that arrive.

Maintain and create strong and positive working relationships with clients.

Undertake reporting and administration duties for the commercial team as required.

Key capabilities:

  • Computer literate
  • Able to use standard Microsoft packages: Word, Excel, Powerpoint (essential)
  • Able to use Microsoft packages: Project (desirable)
